  • Q: Who are you?
    A:
My [nick]name's Tk, and I'm just a[nother] fan of Bradley Whitford, armed with a computer and some web design knowledge/really good software.

Q: Why did you build this site?
    A:
Because when I asked my friends "Should I build a Bradley Whitford site or a West Wing site this summer?", they all said, "Bradley Whitford". I think they all have a thing for him. <g>

Seriously though, when I started watching The West Wing properly last year (2002 - I was late to the party), it was Bradley's performance as Joshua Lyman that just kept on amazing me (and, y'know, making me cry) so I went looking for more of his work... and became a big fan.

Building websites is a hobby of mine and I like building sites that are easily accessible (ie. sites with quite low graphics content - when I was on dial-up I hated waiting half-hour for a page to load!) and up-to-date.

With this site, I wanted to create somewhere where people can learn about Bradley's work and meet other fans.

Q: Why is it called "Just Brad"?
    A:
Up until a few days before launch, the site was just called Bradley-Whitford.net, which wasn't a great name for a website. I asked Mel for a suggestion and she came back with "Just Brad" before asking Chris, who came up with the same name on his own.  Mags picked it out of a list of possibilities and Jeanine, well, she ended up correcting my grammar on the Biography instead of commenting on the name. <shrugs>

And no, we're not all freakishly telepathic, we're just fans of Will and Grace.  In season one, Jack did a show at an open mic night, called "Just Jack". Whereas "Just Brad" doesn't have the alliteration going for it, it sums this site up pretty well. ;)

Q: Do you know Bradley Whitford?
    A:
No. Nope. Never met him; never spoken to him.  He lives about 6000 miles thattaway! <points South-West-ish>

Please do not email me any letters/autograph requests/pledges of undying love meant for Brad since I've no way of getting them to him so it would just be a waste of electrons.

Q: Where do you get your information from?
    A:
It's all from the Internet or other widely available sources unless otherwise stated; I've just collected it and put it all in one place.  As I say on the front page, I do try everything I can to ensure the information is accurate, and if I can't be reasonably sure, I don't put it on the site. Despite what I say above about being up-to-date, I'd rather be last and right than first and wrong.

    Q: Do you take submissions?
    A:
To be honest, I'm half-counting on them. ;) Due to the fact that I live in the UK, it's unlikely that I'm going to see or even know about Bradley's latest interview or appearance, for example, unless someone tells me (or sends it to me), which means submissions may well be the difference between this site thriving and this site dying a horrible death.

Full credit is given to all submissions so send information, pictures, interviews, etc to webmaster@bradley-whitford.net. Please include your name, email address and website address (both optional - I'll post the website address provided there's no inappropriate content available at the address) along with the source of the submission (so I know where it's come from and can check it out).

Q: Why hasn't the site been updated lately?
    A:
There are two main reasons why the site may not have been updated for a while:
    1) I've got a work deadline, or
    2) I've got nothing to update the site with.

There may, of course, be other reasons, but those are the two that are most likely. If I have some news but can't update the site, I will try to post it in the Forums and through the Update and Discussions lists.

Q: Why have some of the letters in my Guestbook post been replaced with asterisks?
    A:
There is a very simple bad-word filter in place on the Guestbook; very simple in that if a word on its watch-list appears within a bigger, perfectly non-offensive word, the letters will still be substituted.  I check it almost every day and if I see something's been mistakenly filtered, I can and will fix it.  Additionally, if you see your post's been edited erroneously, there's no harm in emailing me to let me know, if you wish. :)

Q: 26/10/04? The 10th of what month, exactly?
    A:
Ah, yeah. <points@self> Welsh (/Chinese). Our dates are dd/mm/yy and I know, since I'm running a site on an American an' all, I should probably have used mm/dd/yy on here, but it slipped my mind, and then, well, confused me. So I decided, wherever possible I'd use a full format date, and wherever I use numbers, the date's in the UK format. Sorry about that! My sanity thanks you for understanding. :)

Q: Why isn't there more information/pictures/general stuff about Josh Lyman and The West Wing on this site?
    A:
Because this is a Bradley Whitford site, not a The West Wing site. Josh Lyman is just one of the many roles Bradley has played during his career, and whilst it may be his most high profile role so far, it doesn't have to dominate this site. Likewise, I'm not planning on making 150 Josh Lyman screencaps from each and every ep of The West Wing for the Pictures section - there are other sites out there that have those. :)

Q: Can I use the pictures/other files from this site on my own web page?
    A:
Please email me stating which files you want and what you're going to do with them (image gallery, custom graphics, etc). More often than not I'll say yes, but if the files have been submitted to me, they're not really mine to give permission for. I'd also appreciate a link back to http://www.bradley-whitford.net. You can get a banner or button here if you wish.

Q: Can I link to this site from mine?
    A:
Yes, of course! :)  Please link to http://www.bradley-whitford.net only (and not individual pages). There are banners and buttons here that you can upload to your own site if you wish.

Q: Does this site look shoddy in Netscape?
    A:
    Apparently not so much, anymore!

Q: Why doesn't this site look shoddy in Netscape anymore?
    A:
I have no clue.  All I know is a visitor emailed me to say that the site looked fine in Firefox, and that Firefox uses the same engine as Netscape.  I haven't been able to verify this myself so please email me if you find different.  :)
